Senbikiya-Sohonten

Millefeuille

Nihonbashi Senbikiya-Sohonten was established in 1834 by Benzo, a samurai from Senbikimura, Saitama-gun, Musashi Province (present-day Koshigaya City, Saitama Prefecture), as a "mizugashi (fruit) yasuuri place" in Nihonbashi Fukiya-cho (present-day Nihonbashi Ningyocho 3-chome).

In 1868, the company moved to Nihonbashi-Muromachi, where the main store is now located, and later opened branch stores in Kyobashi and Ginza. We have also introduced fruits from all over the world through our “De’meter" restaurant, where you can enjoy fruit dinners, and fruit parlors.

This year marks the 190th anniversary of the company's founding in the same Nihonbashi district where it was established. We have continued to deliver the finest fruits from all over the world with all our hearts.

In French, "mille" means "thousand" and "feuille" means "leaf"; "mille-feuille" means "a thousand leaves".

"Sweet Blueberry" is a rich, bittersweet chocolate with the perfect balance of blueberry acidity, "White Strawberry" is a milky white chocolate accented with the sweet and sour taste of strawberries, and "Yuzu Green Tea" has the deep taste of green tea and the softly spreading aroma of yuzu (a citrus fruit). "Yuzu Matcha" has a deep green tea flavor and a softly spreading yuzu aroma.

The aromatic flavors of each fruit are locked in a layer of fine pastry dough and rich, mellow chocolate.
