Mokumeganeya
Mokume-kasane pendant / Tsuba pendant
Mokumeganeya specializes in wedding rings and jewelry made with "Mokume-Gane", a traditional Japanese technique born in the Edo period that skillfully manipulates the different colors of metals to create a wood grain pattern.
Mokume-Gane was a technique once used to decorate samurai swords.
There was a time in its history when it was called a "phantom technique," and it is difficult to learn and pass on due to the complexity of the technique and the ambiguity of the oral tradition. That is why it is worth passing on.
We were the first in the world to produce a restored research production of the oldest "Mokume-Gane" made in the Edo period (1700's).
Mr. Takahashi, the president of Mokumeganeya, published a research paper on "Mokume-Gane" and obtained a doctorate degree.
Based on our research and study, we would like to develop this proud Japanese culture in the form of unique wedding rings and jewelry.
This jewelry is made using Mokume Gane, a traditional Japanese technique that has been around for 400 years.
Mokume Gane is a metal processing technique that originated in Japan 400 years ago during the Edo period as a technique for making sword tsuba (tsuba) used by samurai. The wood grain pattern created using metals of various colors is one-of-a-kind, with no two being the same.
