DOMYO Une-gumi, Nara-gumi Bracelet / Card Case

Since its founding in 1652, Yusoku Kumihimo Domyo has been dedicated to the craft of kumihimo (traditional Japanese braided cords) for over 370 years, using time-honored techniques of hand-dyeing and hand-braiding.

Since the Meiji era, we have also focused on preserving and passing down historical kumihimo techniques. To achieve this, we have conducted research on various historical kumihimo pieces housed in temples, shrines, and museums across Japan, engaging in efforts to restore and reproduce these traditional braids.

While continuing to uphold its traditional craftsmanship, we have also sought to develop new products that align with modern lifestyles. In 2015, the company launched the Western-style accessories brand "DOMYO" with the aim of introducing the beauty of kumihimo to younger generations and international audiences. Through this brand, we offer everyday items such as neckties, accessories, and belts, making kumihimo more accessible in contemporary fashion.
