WONDER POP HATENA Chan Print A−Birth of Life
'Birth of Life', a series of three new neo-silk print works on the theme of 'Hatena-chan' as conceived by artist Keiichi Tanaami.
(Signed, size: 460 x 337 mm).
Keiichi Tanaami is one of Japan's leading legends who started out during Japan's period of rapid economic growth in the 1960s and has continued his uninhibited creative activities to the present day, crossing the boundaries of multiple genres such as graphic design, fine art, animation, and video, while sensitizing pop culture and the changing eroticism of the city. He is one of Japan's leading legends.
Keiichi Tanaami has always been a border-crosser of expression, and his unique style, in which he sublimates his work into something original through free and flexible eclecticism, is reminiscent of the multifaceted imagination of "Hokusai", one of the most famous painters of the Edo period.
The three prints produced as part of the Haneda Original Limited Edition were all printed by 360°Graphics, a leading printmaking studio in Tokyo, Japan.
The "neo silkscreen" technique used for these prints is an original printing technique developed by this studio.
The technique is a unique and delicate technique developed by the studio, which is a continuation of the woodblock printing technique used for ukiyoe woodblock prints since the Edo period.
The prints are printed with a uniquely Japanese delicacy and vibrancy, and the collaboration between the printmaker and the artist creates a world view that blends Japanese aesthetics with a pop sensibility.
