The source of my creative inspiration lies in the primal emotion of “prayer” that people have harbored since ancient times. My journey began with a deep resonance toward the power, purity, and primordial questioning embodied in the haniwa, dogū, and ceramic figurines once created alongside primitive prayers. I seek to reinterpret, in the “language” of today, the unchanging human sense of prayer and reverence—giving form to beings that, like nocturnal creatures whispering secrets into the wind as they stand rooted in the earth, awaken our dreams, fantasies, and innocent thoughts.

Clay, reborn through firing at over 1,200°C, becomes a durable medium capable of transmitting information into the future. Through this medium, I create beasts that serve as a bridge between the spirit of prayer from ancient times and the future—beings that spark a timeless dialogue.
