MARUWA Knit
For over a century, Maruwa Knit has cultivated a unique knitting method through “Knit-ism” spirit in Wakayama prefecture in Japan. The knit textiles created by highly skilled craftsmen are renowned for their quality, functionality, and beauty.
Our fabrics are knitted by "Balancircular®", our exclusive knitting technology and knitting machine that exist only in our company. This particular method allows the delivery of unmatched, most luxurious softness and woven-fabric-like form, maintaining a polished shape and structure. Super extra fine lamb in white cashmere and merino wool. We use a blended yarn of 15.0 to 18.5μ, which combines the sliminess and softness characteristic of cashmere, with excellent heat retention and moisture absorption.

Maruwa Knit Co., Ltd. was founded in 1934 by the great-grandfather of the current CEO. The technology of circular knitting has been cultivated in Wakayama Japan, over four generations.
We have been taking on the challenges of producing fabrics, starting with underwear, and then expanding to a variety of fields such as apparel fabrics for outerwear and fabrics for industrial materials. In particular, "Balancircular®" produces a one-of-a-kind knitting fabrics, achieved through our own effort of modification of vintage knitting machine. Its success, in establishing an innovative and unique knitting method, from existing knit and woven fabrics, has raised our presence in the fashion textile industry.


Wakayama Prefecture is located in the Kansai region of Japan, situated on the Kii Peninsula. It faces the Pacific Ocean and is known for its warm climate and abundant nature. We have won various awards including the Grand Prize and the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award at the "Japan Best Knit Selection" in 2016. Later on, we also won a double award at the "GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2019" for its innovative packable jackets and pants created solely using "Balancircular®" knit fabric. We also received the Grand Prize for Manufacturing Excellence of J Quality Award 2019.
Such success solidifies the reputation of our newly launched brand in 2024, "Balancircular® by Maruwa Knit" geared towards the international market.
