2CD Home Sanctuary

“2CD” is a multi-category luxury brand built on the concepts of cool, compact, and divine. “2CD Home Sanctuary” is the brand’s home accessories line, reimagined from traditions and rituals surrounding Buddhist altar fittings, ceremonial implements, good luck charms, and customs of prayer from around the world, adapted to fit today’s diverse lifestyles. Through minimal and refined design, it offers “moments of inner balance” and “sacred spaces” to the everyday lives of aesthetically discerning people living in an uncertain era. Each piece is meticulously crafted by Japan’s master artisans, workshops with unique techniques, and leading creators.

Editorial Department Inc. was founded in 2021 as a creative editorial studio, seeking out “things that are beautiful but not useful” and “things that are useful but not beautiful” in everyday life around the world, and re-editing them into items that are both beautiful and useful. The 2CD Home Sanctuary brand was launched in 2024 to provide “emotional healing” and “sacred spaces” essential for today’s aesthetically sensitive individuals living in uncertain times.

The products of 2CD Home Sanctuary are crafted one by one with great care by outstanding artisans across Japan, unique workshops, and top creators. The stone bases made of Date Kanmuri-ishi originate from Ōkurayama, Miyagi Prefecture. The incense burners, featuring original glazes, and the finely forged singing bowls produced in limited quantities are from Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture. The mallets, imbued with swordsmithing skills passed down for over ten generations, come from the Izumo region in Shimane Prefecture. The droplet-shaped objects, radiating a sacred aura, are created by skilled craftsmen in Tokyo.
