Nomura Manufacturing Co., Ltd. traces its origins back to 1923, when Nomura Shoten was founded in Asakusa Eijūchō. In 1946, the company relocated to Higashi-Ueno in Taitō City, and in 1951 it was reorganized as Nomura Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
Today, the company is home to three craftsmen who hold First-Class Technical Certification in the Leather Division awarded by the Japan Bag & Handbag Association, reflecting its high level of technical excellence. Under their guidance, the next generation continues to refine and inherit these skills.
As a manufacturer of leather accessories — a local industry of Taitō City — the company has grown steadily over the years. Building upon the expertise cultivated through decades as an OEM-focused manufacturer, it has begun taking on new challenges by planning and producing original products, opening the door to a new era of craftsmanship.

Taitō City is renowned as a center for leather craftsmanship. Its heritage of manufacturing dates back to the Edo period and is supported by a strong concentration of leather-related businesses and skilled artisans.
In particular, the areas of Asakusa, Kuramae, Asakusabashi, and Okachimachi are home to long-established leather wholesalers, hardware shops, and textile suppliers. Numerous leather craft shops and workshops offering hands-on experiences can also be found throughout the area. As a regional industry, robust support systems exist to promote craftsmanship and to nurture emerging designers and artisans.
