Hiroyuki Kurata is an architect and product designer. After graduating from the Department of Architecture, School of Science and Engineering, Waseda University in 1980, he studied abroad at the Politecnico di Milano in Italy and worked at Yamashita Architectural Design Office, before establishing Hiroyuki Kurata Architectural Design Office in 1989.

In 2001, he launched his own brand, "margherita," beginning to develop and manufacture industrial products himself as a manufacturer. He continues to work at the intersection of architectural design and product design.

Drawing on perspectives from both architectural design and industrial design, Hiroyuki Kurata develops products that harmonize with living spaces through his brand "margherita." The name "margherita" derives from the daisy flower, whose form is composed of numerous small elements gathered together, and this structure is also reflected in his design philosophy. In this work, a group of products originally designed as three-dimensional objects has been reconstructed using axonometric projection and rendered as flat works through Neo Silkscreen printing. By leaving traces of these once three-dimensional products on a flat surface, the work reconsiders their forms and presence from a new perspective.
