Light enough to wear across three seasons
Woven from a single layer of silk organza, this stole adds color and drape without adding weight. At roughly 50 × 180 cm, it sits easily over the shoulders — a soft layer for spring evenings, summer air conditioning, or the first cool days of autumn.
A color that only plants can make
Each stole is dyed by hand with a single natural dyestuff — indigo leaves, madder root, sappanwood, gromwell root, among others — and named for the plant that colored it. Because the dye comes directly from nature, no two pieces settle into quite the same shade, and the color continues to soften and deepen with time and wear.
Continuing the work of a Living National Treasure
This stole comes from Atelier Shimura, a studio founded to carry forward the technique and artistic spirit of Fukumi Shimura — a weaver and essayist recognized by the Japanese government as a Living National Treasure, one of the country's highest honors for a master of traditional craft. Every piece is dyed and finished by hand in Japan.

Care
Colors will settle and deepen over time — this gradual shift is a natural characteristic of plant dyes, not a defect.
Due to the nature of plant dyes, color may transfer to other items through friction during wear, or when wet from sweat or rain. If the item needs cleaning, consult a professional cleaner and let them know it is dyed with plant-based dyes.
For the indigo-dyed color: color may transfer through friction. Take care when layering with pale-colored garments. If color transfers to another piece of clothing, wash the affected item according to its care label. Wash this stole separately, and avoid leaving it soaking or wet for extended periods.
