Wristwatch · quartz · designed by Takenobu Igarashi

01 Inspired by Igarashi's station clock at Sapporo — designed to be read in an instant
02 High-contrast dial with distinctive slender numerals — Good Design Award 2006
03 Small-batch production by SPQR — a watch brand rooted in Suwa, Japan's precision watchmaking region

A timepiece worn as an integral part of one's style, meant to be appreciated for its design as much as its function. SPQR is the flagship watch brand of Watch Planning Office Costante, established in Suwa, Nagano Prefecture in 2000 by Shinroku Shimizu — formerly involved in product planning at Suwa Seikosha (now Seiko Epson Corporation). Suwa has long been regarded as the Switzerland of the East, with a deep heritage in precision instrument manufacturing.

SPQR is defined by design that transcends trends, developed by a cross-disciplinary team of specialists. Each piece is produced in small quantities in Japan.

Eki Watch
A large station clock designed by Takenobu Igarashi, suspended above the East–West concourse of Sapporo Station in Hokkaido. Created so that even those passing by in haste can read the time at a glance, the dial features strong contrast and distinctive slender, vertically elongated numerals. The design received the Good Design Award in 2006.

The Eki Clock at Sapporo Station

The sapphire glass set into its slim yet robust case is engineered so that the edges remain virtually invisible, further enhancing the watch's minimalist aesthetic. This timepiece embodies the universal design philosophy of a station clock — clear, readable, and accessible to all — translated into a wristwatch. Suitable for all genders and ages, it is a piece for those who appreciate refined simplicity.
