The material's extraordinary hardness makes it ideal for flat pieces like wallets, but shaping it into curves is another matter entirely. When Go-One's founder first brought the idea to his craftsmen, the reaction was immediate: they wanted no part of it.

Cutting galuchat requires a hand knife. Stitching it demands specially reinforced thread. Forming it into the folded, contoured shape of a bow tie pushed against the limits of what the material — and the people working with it — could do.
