A necktie made from galuchat — the hide of the red stingray — is not something that should exist. The material's extraordinary hardness makes it well-suited to flat pieces, but shaping it into the folded, contoured form of a necktie was something else entirely. When Go-One's founder first raised the idea with his craftsmen, the response was unambiguous: they didn't want to do it.

Cutting galuchat requires a hand knife. Stitching it demands specially reinforced thread. And producing a 50 cm necktie — long enough to knot, or in this case, hang — requires a single piece of hide that is not only large enough but entirely free of blemishes. Finding that hide, and working it into the folded edges of a necktie, is what separates Go-One's craftsmen from everyone else.

Fitting takes seconds. Loop the neck strap beneath your shirt collar, fasten the adjuster to your preferred length, and the necktie hangs exactly as it should — no knotting, no tucking, nothing to fix mid-evening. The galuchat holds its shape without any help: the drape, the fold, the silhouette remain unchanged from first wear to last.
