For Clothes You Want to Keep for a Lifetime
We all have pieces we want to care for and wear as long as possible. Over time, the surface of wool and knit fabrics begins to pill — a natural result of wear. This clothes broom, made from broom corn grown in Kunohe Village, Iwate Prefecture, gently lifts that fluff away while leaving the fabric surface smooth and looking its best.

Why a Broom, Not a Brush?
Most clothes brushes have flat, uniform bristles that require firm pressure to work. This clothes broom has bristles of uneven length — tapered tips that naturally conform to the fabric surface, so no force is needed. The result is thorough cleaning without stress on the material.

No Static, No Residue
Synthetic brushes tend to generate static electricity, causing the debris they collect to cling back to the brush. Broom corn does not — making the cleaning action more effective and the broom itself easier to maintain.

Safe for Delicate and Formal Wear
The broom can be used on cashmere, wool, and formal wear without risk of damage. The key is a light wrist motion using only the tip of the bristles — no pressing required. For longevity: do not knock the broom against hard surfaces, do not trim the bristles, and avoid applying force. Alternate the sweep direction regularly to prevent the bristles from developing a set lean. When storing, hang the broom with bristles facing up, or stand it upright.

Nambu Broom — A Craft of Kunohe Village
The Nambu Broom tradition is rooted in Kunohe Village, Iwate Prefecture, where broom corn is grown without pesticides and harvested by hand. Takakura Kogei weaves each broom with silk thread — a process that requires skill built over years of practice. The broom is biodegradable, chemical-free, and designed to be used, not replaced.
