A collaboration between MUTO, a textile manufacturer based in Yamanashi Prefecture, and Watanabe Pile Orimono — a long-established towel maker in Imabari, Ehime Prefecture, with over 50 years of expertise in premium Imabari towels.
Two years of yarn development
MUTO developed its unique yarn — patent pending — over two years. Its remarkable elasticity creates a denser pile structure, increasing the surface area in contact with the skin and significantly enhancing absorbency. Gently stretching the towel reveals a subtle springiness — a sign of the yarn's performance. The thick, fluffy texture holds its form and resists pilling even after repeated washing.
Available in two sizes — Face Towel (30 × 120 cm) and Bath Towel (60 × 120 cm) — and five understated colors. A considered everyday object, and a thoughtful gift.
