A joint built from scratch
Most tilting mirrors rely on a hinge or a friction fitting that loosens over time. Pivot mirror instead uses a spherical magnetic joint, developed in-house through repeated prototyping specifically to hold the mirror's weight at any angle without slipping. The result is a smooth, precise adjustment that stays exactly where you leave it — tilted for makeup, angled for jewelry, or turned to catch the light.
One mirror, two ways to use it
The mirror head lifts off the base by hand, so the same piece works as a stationary tabletop mirror or, detached, as a hand mirror you can carry to better light. The base itself is sized to be easy to hold and moved from room to room whenever you need it.
Solid Hokkaido ash, five ways
Pivot mirror is made from solid ash grown in Hokkaido, available in five finishes: Natural, which lets the wood's own color and grain show through untouched; Light Grey and Dark Grey for a quieter, more neutral look; and Green and Pale Pink as softer accent tones. Even the tinted finishes are translucent rather than opaque, so the wood grain stays visible underneath the color in every version.
Fifty years of small-object woodwork in Asahikawa
Pivot mirror is made by SASAKI, a wood-craft manufacturer founded in 1976 in Asahikawa, Hokkaido — a city long known as one of Japan's centers for furniture and wood-product making. SASAKI marked its 50th year in business in 2026. The company specializes in small wooden objects rather than large furniture, a category that calls for the fine handwork of an artisan alongside the precision needed to make many pieces consistently.
Designed by Tadahito Ishibashi
Pivot mirror was designed by Tadahito Ishibashi, who went independent in 2005 after working as an in-house designer for a consumer electronics maker. His work has been recognized with multiple Japanese design awards, including the Good Design Award.

Care
Wipe the wood with a soft, dry cloth; avoid soaking or using harsh cleaners. Clean the mirror glass with a soft cloth only — avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, which can scratch the surface. Keep out of direct sunlight for long periods, as it can gradually fade the wood tone. Handle with care, as the mirror is glass and can chip or crack if dropped.
