The Gesture of Handing Over a Card
Most business card cases open and close. This one unfolds. The bentwood body — a single piece of solid maple, shaped without joints using bent-wood technique — opens along a cord hinge, creating a deliberate, two-handed presentation. The material alone tends to prompt a reaction. In a context where card exchange is a considered ritual, the case becomes part of the moment.
Built to Last, Inside and Out
The cord uses the same stitching method found in quality leather shoe seams — chosen for durability at the hinge, the point of highest stress. The interior is lined with genuine cowhide leather, which holds its surface over time. Unlike synthetic lining materials that peel or fray with repeated use, the leather develops a patina and remains functional for years.
