White Rose is one of Japan's oldest umbrella manufacturers, with a history of approximately 300 years. The company is also the pioneer of the vinyl umbrella — the first in the world to develop a transparent film canopy. Today, that tradition continues in umbrellas that are both highly functional and quietly refined in appearance.

The Valve That Changes How an Umbrella Handles Wind
The defining feature of White Rose umbrellas is a patented valve structure built into the canopy. When wind pressure builds inside the umbrella, the valve releases it outward — preventing the frame from inverting. Most umbrellas fight the wind and lose. This one vents it. The result is a canopy that holds its shape in conditions that would destroy a standard umbrella.

Polyolefin Film — Clarity That Lasts
Many vinyl umbrellas use polyvinyl chloride (PVC), which yellows and clouds with age. White Rose uses a polyolefin multilayer film — the same material found in high-quality packaging — which maintains its clarity over years of use. The transparency is a functional choice as much as an aesthetic one: you can see clearly ahead while walking.

Amemachi — Designed for the Commute
Among White Rose's range, Amemachi is the folding model designed for everyday carry. The canopy has fold lines pre-scored into it, so collapsing it takes a single motion rather than a struggle. It comes with a matching umbrella bag with an adjustable strap — short enough to carry by hand, long enough to sling over a shoulder. The bag's inner layer is the same polyolefin film as the canopy, keeping wet fabric from soaking through.

The handle is turned from cherry wood with the natural bark left intact — the texture is warm in the hand and ages distinctively.
