Kiriko cut glass · Five traditional patterns · Handcrafted in Japan
An endless light
Tōtō Mujin — "an endless light" — expresses the wish for teachings, memories, and heartfelt intentions to be passed down endlessly, like an ever-burning flame across generations. Inspired by the soft, comforting glow of a traditional Japanese andon lantern, this Kiriko glass was created to evoke light that gently connects the present to the future — a vessel for quiet moments shared over time, from parent to child, and onward.
Five patterns, endlessly shifting
Five classic Japanese patterns are engraved generously around the glass: Kiku-tsunagi (linked chrysanthemum), Hakkaku Kagome (octagonal basket weave), Nanako (fish roe), Ito Asanoha (hemp leaf), and Kumonosu with a central core (spiderweb). As the glass turns, each motif reveals a different expression, shimmering subtly like the flicker of lantern light.

Placed in a softly lit room at night, the glass gently reflects ambient light, slowing the sense of time and creating a calm, intimate atmosphere. It is a piece made to be cherished and shared across generations.
Modern Kiriko by a former designer
The work of glass artist Noriko Chikaraishi balances tradition and innovation with effortless ease. Delicate cuts, flowing curves, and layered techniques create depth and character that extend beyond conventional Kiriko. Her designs subtly echo Western architectural beauty while quietly expanding the future of Japanese cut glass.
The layered colors and gentle gradations are unmistakably her signature. Although rooted in traditional craftsmanship, her Kiriko feels soft and expressive — made possible by the refined color sense she developed during her earlier career as a designer.
Her journey with Kiriko began with a moment of awe: "I couldn't believe something this beautiful could be made by human hands." That sense of wonder continues to guide her work today.
"Kiriko glass is the culmination of techniques passed down through generations. Encountering such handcrafted beauty amid a busy daily life brings a sense of cultural richness and calm." Each piece — born from the precision of carving and the quiet joy of subtle variation — embodies a serene elegance meant to be enjoyed over time.

Care
Wash by hand using a soft sponge and neutral detergent with water or lukewarm water.
Avoid abrasive sponges, which may cause scratches. A soft brush or toothbrush works well for the cut surfaces.
After washing, wipe dry with a soft cloth and allow to air dry.
For water stains, soak briefly in lukewarm water with citric acid or vinegar, then rinse.
For extended storage, keep in a dust-free box or wrapped in cloth, away from direct sunlight and high humidity.
Note
This product is made of delicate glass. Strong impacts or sudden temperature changes may cause breakage.
Do not use in microwaves, ovens, dishwashers, or over direct flame.
The rim is particularly thin — handle with care to avoid knocks.
Minor air bubbles may be present as a natural result of the glassmaking process.
