The chair a craftsman built before his child was born
The origin of this chair is personal. A craftsman at KOMA, early in his apprenticeship, made the first version for his own child — months before the baby arrived. He couldn't wait.

"The first chair I made as an apprentice was a baby chair — still rough, built for a child who hadn't arrived yet. I remember the joy of seeing her sit in it for the first time. The anxiety when she started climbing on it like a jungle gym. And when she outgrew it — that feeling of happiness mixed with something a little like loss. Because the time with it is so short, I want it to be something that makes those moments feel worth holding on to."

Walnut — the wood that gets better with time
Walnut is one of the world's most highly regarded furniture timbers — dense, impact-resistant, and naturally oiled in a way that makes the surface respond to handling over time. The color deepens gradually: what arrives as a warm medium brown shifts toward something richer and more complex with the years. Because the wood is natural, no two pieces share the same grain or tone. What you receive is the only one of its kind.
